Helmets for Kids

Proceeds from the Cambridge Tour de Grand are used to fund the Helmets for Kids program. Bicycle helmets are provided to children and young adults at no cost through partnerships with the Cambridge Neighbourhood Associations. They in turn with assistance from the Waterloo Regional Police organize bicycle rodeos and safety events annually including the distribution of helmets.

With the assistance of Grand River Cycle and the helmets suppliers, Bell and Giant, helmets are purchased with Tour de Grand funds at cost, ensuring more children each year are provided with a bicycle helmet. This year the Tour de Grand has purchased over 460 helmets to be distributed to the community.
